How to apply for a classroom mini-grant

If you’re a student or parent in Polk or Osceola County, here’s how to start the scholarship process.

Step 1 – Confirm your project idea

Discuss your idea with any colleagues involved and with your school administration. Make sure the project aligns with school policies and can be completed within the school year.

Step 2 – Gather basic information

School name and contact information, Grade level(s) and estimated number of students, Brief description of the project or activity, Timeline for planning and implementation

Step 3 – Build a simple budget

Your budget should include: estimated costs for materials, supplies, transportation, or fees, any funds or support already available from your school or partners, &, a short explanation of how each line item connects to the project

Step 4 – Complete and submit the online form

Fill out the mini-grant application form, attach your budget, and answer each question clearly and concisely. Review everything before you submit. After you apply, you will receive a confirmation email and later an update on your application status.
